This place did it to me! They have made me want to forget places like Rita's forever. Of course, being a lifelong Delco guy (for the most part at least), I always knew the Rosati's name. But I never made a pilgrimage to their window. I'm glad I did this year because I never would have gotten to try their Crybaby Rainbow water ice, which has now become something short of an obsession. If you don't like sour tastes, then you might not go for this flavor. But if you are into that kind of thing, this will be worth at least a 5 mile drive, if not more. This place will never be like Pops Water Ice to me, which is a different experience altogether. But it doesn't have to be, especially with the price being what it is.

Don't bother going to Rita's. Go to the back of Clifton and get the best tasting yet cheapest water ice around.

I can't believe I've lived in Delco for 7 years now and JUST found this place. Don't worry, I plan to make up for all the lost time. This is the water ice of your youth! It still tastes amazing and the servings you get from the window are huge! The small is double the size of a regular Rosati's cup. Lemon was always my favorite, since I'm a purist, so I went with that. Had to try their crybaby too (which was green apple that day) at the recommendation of Steve. Soury goodness, that stuff was!!!

I wish they would expand as crappy Rita's has, they clearly have the best water ice you will ever try, the Banana, Lemon, Cherry, & Bubble Gum flavors, will blow you away and good luck finding anything even close to as good somewhere else. A gem in delco, worth checking out at least 10 times this summer!

Been to every countries in Europe... some in Asia and some in South America... Even tried the Shaved Iced in Hawaii.... Nothing beats "Rosati Water Ice" Clearly the BEST in the World!

Best Water Ice in the world...hands down. Nothing else even comes close....Thank God I live 2 minutes away! Cherry, Blue Raspberry and Lemon are my favorites!

Best price on water ice around... Probably since they cut out the middleman. This is the water ice of your youth - all it needs is the dissolving paper cone! No overpriced foo-foo flavors here. You can always count on cherry, blue raspberry, lemon, and a few extras. I recommend the bubble gum.

This 'store' is just a window in the side of the Rosati Water Ice factory. It's only open during the summer, and then, the hours are Monday-Friday 5:30 to 9(ish). The water ice flavors change regularly, so your favorite may not be available when you come, but they usually have a fairly large selection. They also sell vanilla and chocolate ice cream (but don't quote me, on that). The water ice is fairly inexensive, only about $1 for a good size cup. The cups are actually 4oz, but when the servers scoop it, it usually is well over the top, similar to a double scoop, and that's the small. (I'm a big guy, but this is more than enough for me.) For those who need more, they sell the water ice by the quart, and even 2.5 gallon tubs. It's also available in a dozen pre-packed cups of the same flavor, and various sizes. I heartily recommend it. It's one of the nice secrets of Clifton Heights.

Rosati water ice is the best!!! I remember when I was a kid Rosati water ice was the only water ice we could get. Then came the others, Rita's etc... They simply just don't do it as well as Rosati, so if it's been a long time since you have had a good itilian ice, take a ride to Clifton heights and go back to the best water ice in the world. It's worth it!! They do have rather odd hours so if you find them closed, look up Bernie's pretzel shop which is only a couple miles away. They sell Rosati water ice and it's even better with a soft pretzel. Their price is a little higher than if you get it at the home location but either way Rosati water ice is the best around.

My family and I drive from Audubon, PA (40 minute drive) just to go to Rosati's little window. There is, in my opinion, no better water ice on the planet. Rita's is too sickening sweet and syrupy (is that a word?). Rosati's is flavorful but still icy. I've been eating it since I was a kid when we would visit my Grandmother in Media, PA. She would take us in to Woolworth's where there was a Rosati hand-dipped cart and treat us to their water ice on a hot Summer day. It was just the best!! Fast forward 40 years and my kids always want us to take them to Rosati's despite the long car ride. I wish we lived closer or it was available up here in Montco....until then, we'll keep coming back to the little window.
